Carcass Front is nigh!
Just one month to go before Carcass Front hits the shelves on July 29th! A huge thank you to everyone who has already pre-ordered. As our very first starter set and campaign box, it goes without saying that we are incredibly excited to see it arrive in stores!
The Carcass Front box contains lots of exciting new content for Trench Crusade, and with just a few weeks to go before it starts hitting tables, here’s a recap of what you’ll find within…
The stars of the show are of course the new Warbands: the Heretic Naval Raiders and the Path of the Sacred Affliction. The Carcass Front box has 16 miniatures in total, with 7 for the Heretic Naval Raiders, and 9 for the Procession of the Sacred Affliction. Each makes up a ready-to-play, 700 Ducat Warband. We’ve been gradually revealing the minis since the box was first announced, but each one can be built in two different ways, and we’ll be showing you their alternate poses very soon!
What would a wargame be without terrain? The Carcass Front box includes two different types of scatter terrain: naval mines and Levant hedgehogs. As with the minis, these terrain pieces are on sprues. We wanted the Carcass Front terrain pieces to be thematic, and to bring some interesting new mechanics to the game. We’ll let you discover exactly what those mechanics are when you open the box, but let’s just say that firing at a mine is probably a bad idea… This is our first foray into plastic terrain pieces, and we hope to be able to start offering larger-scale terrain in the future!
Carcass Front also contains some extra sprues of gaming accessories, including 6″ measuring sticks, Activation tokens, Knocked Down tokens, Tough tokens and Fireteam tokens. And of course, dice: the box includes regular dice, Blood Dice, and a Blessing die for the Stigmatic Nun.
The Carcass Front campaign book is another thing we are particularly excited about. It’s a 96-page hardback book, packed full of new lore around the strange characters and locations of the Carcass Front. It contains not one, but two campaigns: a map-based campaign, and the Path to Leviathan narrative campaign. We’ve poured so much love and detail into the narrative of Carcass Front, and we can’t wait for you to dive into the story!
The box also includes gaming aids, QuickStart rules and a scenario for beginners, illustrated Warband sheets, a deck of cards and a campaign score pad. And last but not least, a beautifully illustrated A2 map of the Carcass Front.
The creation of Carcass Front has been a truly massive undertaking for the Trench Crusade team, involving many months of lore writing, campaign design, artwork, miniatures design, sculpting and production, but we’ve been blessed to have some of the most talented people in wargaming working with us.
