We are hiring: Miniatures Engineer
Are you ready to engineer the future of the dark and gritty world of Trench Crusade?
We are looking for a Miniatures Engineer to bridge the gap between creative sculpts and physical plastic injection production. In this role, you will use 3D organic software to ensure our models meet the highest manufacturing standards without losing their artistic soul.
Note: This is a dedicated engineering position—not a gateway into miniature design or sculpting—focused on technical problem-solving with a touch of creative execution.
Responsibilities
- Engineer, refine, and optimize high-detail miniature sculpts for plastic injection production using 3D organic software.
- Collaborate remotely with sculptors and creative teams, providing clear, descriptive feedback and precise file adjustments needed for manufacturing.
- Execute project planning, descriptive documentation, and regular status updates across online team channels.
- Ensure strict quality control by balancing visual detail, miniature durability, scale, and plastic tooling requirements.
- Proactively communicate technical queries, potential tooling issues, or production risks as soon as they surface.
- Deliver constructive feedback during and post-project to optimize pipelines as our growing team evolves.
- Manage timelines independently on live projects while staying actively available for virtual team meetings and daily remote collaboration.
Requirements
- Professional experience using Freeform / Freeform Plus software.
- Demonstrated experience working with plastic miniatures and plastic injection manufacturing tolerances.
- Engineering background (or a specialized background with a strong, creative grasp of engineering principles).
- Proven track record of managing time, documentation, and deadlines on live production projects.
- Fluent in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills for a remote setup.
- Highly self-motivated with a drive for finesse, precision, and delivering the highest quality standards.
- Flexible and adaptable to refined workflows and evolving team processes over time.
What we offer
- Fully remote position
- Competitive salary ranging from $45k to $55k USD based on experience
- Opportunity to contribute directly to the visual identity of Trench Crusade
- Work with a passionate, experienced team focused on world-building and craftsmanship
- Flexible work schedule
